About Me
My name is Jordan Noret and I am currently a graduate student at Southern Methodist University studying paleobotany and stable isotope geochemistry under the advisement of Dr. Bonnie Jacobs.
In December, 2008, I graduated from Texas A&M University with a double-major Bachelor of Science in Geology and Environmental Geoscience. As you might guess, I really like rocks. I am most interested in the relationships between people, plants and animals, and climate. Specifically, I am most interested in the historical accounts of these relationships as they may be found in the fossil/archeological record.
I am currently in the process of collecting stable carbon and oxygen isotope data from fossil teeth and plants. I will be using this data to test my hypotheses regarding changes in climate and biogeography between the Oligocene and Miocene epochs of East Africa. If you are more interested in my research, please contact me - I will have little time to update this website in the coming months.
